Set in early 1908, The Great Leslie (Tony Curtis) is a wealthy showman and daredevil, the perfect ladies’ man. He suggests and challenges a very long race from New York to Paris. Leslie even designs his own car, which is named ‘The Leslie Special’ in his honour, from the car company that made it for him.
Meanwhile, Leslie’s arch-enemy Professor Fate (Jack Lemmon) is planning on entering the race too. At any opportunity to beat Leslie, Fate would always try — and usually fail! Being known as ‘Fate the Magnificent’, he has already designed and built his car, called the ‘Hannibal Twin 8′, full of tricks and sneaky clever gadgets.
